Scholars, Pilgrims and Hippies
A conversation between KUNCI (Brigitta Isabella, Fiky Daulay, Nuraini Juliastuti, Syafiatudina) and Marieke Bloombergen, she is the book review editor of BKI, member of the editorial board of the Low Countries Historical Review/BMGN and chair of the Scientific Committee of IIAS. The conversation was started with her research about Dutch colonial spectacle in world exhibition 1880-1931. Mobility approach brought us to a fascinating intersection of productive ‘archive reading’ in surpassing state-formed archives. Her latest research on Greater India looks at the role knowledge production through the networks of scholars, pilgrims, and hippies in the 1880s-1970s. Editor: Fiky Daulay
